Episode 06: Daily Travel (Auto)

There are three items I wish to discuss daily travel (personal car). This process was completed by myself less than 3 months ago when I used this same tactic to purchase my current vehicle. The first question you want to ask yourself is how would you use your vehicle?

I knew that the area I lived in required a larger engine than a 4 cylinder if I wanted to get around during the winter months. I also wanted a vehicle already large enough for me to utilize: Head and foot space is the main measurement when discussing the space inside of the car. From here, I went onto ExtendMySeat and was able to cross-reference vehicles with the most interior room, vehicles with a v-6 engine, and vehicles that have seat extenders already designed and ready for use.

I did the research for the best cars for tall people and will share what I found next. Mind you, these vehicles consider tall people standing at approximately 6’3, so the following vehicles are what I actually considered for purchase.

  1. Chevy Colorado (with the driver door and the mini door behind it)

  2. Toyota Highlander

  3. Subaru Outback (Older Models are roomier to me)

While these were what I considered purchasing based on space, I have great respect for Toyotas as they are easy to fix, finding spare parts is not difficult, and they are very reliable.

What vehicle do you drive? Does it fit your lifestyle and needs? Are you comfortable inside of it?
